Photo Tips for AI Hairstyle Try-On

Choose a clear portrait, leave room around your hair and compare previews consistently. A practical photo checklist for your first AI hairstyle try-on.

Start with one clear portrait

Choose a recent photo of one person whose photo you have permission to use. A relaxed, front-facing portrait makes it easier to compare a new hairstyle with the original. Keep the camera near eye level and avoid a strong tilt, an extreme close-up or a wide-angle selfie that stretches the face.

Use the same original photo for each comparison. Changing the camera angle or expression at the same time can make a small haircut change seem larger than it is.

Leave space for the whole hairstyle

Keep your face, forehead and existing hair visible, with space above the crown and beside both ears. A tight crop gives a longer, wider or more voluminous style less room to appear.

  • Remove a hat when possible and keep hands away from your hairline.
  • Move loose objects away from the face; if glasses hide the eyes or hairline, try a second photo without them.
  • For longer styles, include your shoulders and some space below them.

Use even light and an ordinary background

Face soft, even light so both sides of the face and hair are visible. Avoid strong backlighting, deep shadows, motion blur and heavy beauty filters. A simple background helps you inspect the hair outline. Natural texture is useful; the goal is a readable photo, not a retouched portrait.

Check the file, then choose one change

The studio accepts JPG, PNG and WebP files up to 10 MB, with at least 256 pixels on each side. Upload your portrait, then choose a template, write a hairstyle description or add a separate hairstyle reference image.

Review the description before generating. Generation requires sign-in. One credit is used when at least one result is ready. If all results fail, the credit is returned so you can retry.

Compare each result with the original

Look at the hair outline, parting, fringe length and sides before judging the overall impression. Check whether facial details, ears or the background also changed. A polished image is not necessarily the most useful comparison.

  • Keep the original photo fixed while changing one hairstyle detail.
  • Save or download the result that best communicates your idea.
  • If the face changes noticeably, try a clearer source photo and a simpler description.

Know what a preview can and cannot do

AI generates a new image and may change facial or hair details. It does not guarantee the result of a real haircut or assess your hair density, growth pattern or styling routine.

Stored images are not deleted immediately, and anyone with an image link can view them. Posting to the community is a separate action; keep original-photo links to yourself.

AI hairstyle try-on questions

Do I need a professionally taken photo?

No. A clear phone photo with even light and enough space around the hair is a useful starting point. Avoid a filtered or tightly cropped image.

Will my face remain exactly unchanged?

That is not guaranteed. Compare the generated result with your original and treat changes outside the hair as a limitation of the preview.
